Monica’s Motivational Moment: Use the Talents We Possess

song birdsHow sweet the sound when we all sing from the fullness of what has been placed in our hearts. The world is in harmony when we come to understand that we don’t have to be the best before we step forward in confidence, salve trust and faith. We don’t have to wait to sing, pharm act, perform, write, heal, nurture, serve, lead or create. We don’t have to be caged by the world’s determination of who is the most accomplished or deserving.
We can surrender all – our gifts, talents, passion and purpose to God, resting in the grace and knowledge that the Gift-giver never errs. As the 19th century poet and clergyman, Henry van Dyke reminds us, “Use what talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.”

Monica’s Motivational Moment: The Journey

I went back and counted. Next year will mark 20 years of my journey of encouraging others to find ways to manifest their dreams. It began small—one-on-one moments of encouraging words to co-workers, order colleagues and friends. Those encounters became the foundation of the call on my life to encourage the dreams of others. What followed has been an incredible journey –Monica’s Motivational Moments on WQUE-FM in New Orleans, illness empowerment seminars, speaking engagements, self-published books, one-woman shows and live events.

I will mark this milestone with Dream Out Loud, a live, entertaining and interactive empowerment event, Saturday, January 10, 2015. At 9:00am, we will begin with the Live Café, featuring iHeartRadio’s Uptown Angela and DJ Ro, providing high-energy, let’s get our dreams going music. At 10:00 a.m., the Dream Out Loud presentation begins – where I will take to the stage (wigs and all) to offer insights and strategies to help us all take action on our dreams. It’s interactive, so you can post your questions and comments live via Twitter at ?#?DreamStories?. WWL-TV anchor, Sally-Ann Roberts will be our special guest to offer support and pray for the dreams of all in attendance.

There is no cost to join us for Dream Out Loud, but seating is limited. Reserve your seat at www.MonicaPierrePresents.
